Night Club near Motor City and Dubai Sports City

Motor City and Dubai Sports City are two of Dubai’s most popular residential communities for families and young professionals: green, relatively affordable and built around landmarks like the Dubai Autodrome and the cricket stadium. They have pubs, sports bars and a few restaurants with late hours, but no real night club. Sugar Lounge & Club in Al Barsha is about 15 to 20 minutes away, and the drive is straightforward. Here is how to plan a night out from Motor City and Sports City.

Motor City and Sports City at a glance

Motor City includes the Uptown Motor City apartments, the villa communities around it and the Dubai Autodrome circuit. Dubai Sports City, next door, is home to the international cricket stadium, sports academies, golf and a large number of apartment towers. Together they form a busy residential district south of Al Barsha, connected to the rest of the city by Hessa Street, Umm Suqeim Street and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.

Routes from Motor City and Sports City

From most of Motor City and Sports City, head north on Hessa Street or Umm Suqeim Street towards Al Barsha and Mall of the Emirates. At night the trip usually takes 15 to 20 minutes. Al Khail Road is another option from the eastern side. Ask your ride-hailing app for Montreal Barsha Hotel, 23rd Street, Al Barsha 1.

No metro, so share a car

Neither community is on the metro, so taxis and ride-hailing are the main options. Groups from the same building usually share one larger car, which keeps the cost low. If someone in your group is not drinking, you can drive and park at Montreal Barsha Hotel.

After the match or race

Big cricket matches, race nights at the Autodrome and sports events bring crowds to the area. When the game is over, the local sports bars fill up fast. If your group wants to keep the energy going with a dance floor, Sugar Club is a short drive north. Change out of team shirts if they are sportswear, as our dress code is smart casual.

Hip hop Wednesday

Sports City and Motor City have a young, international population, and Wednesday is one of their favourite nights. Our hip hop night in Dubai plays R&B, 2000s anthems and current rap, with a crowd that sings along to everything. It is a good midweek night to book a table with friends.

Monday Madness

For residents who work weekends or shifts, Monday Madness is the easiest night out of the week. A drinks and shisha deal, a relaxed lounge and a DJ who builds the energy slowly. It is a good night to try Sugar Club for the first time.

Team nights and community events

Sports academies, clubs and local businesses in the area often need a venue for end-of-season parties, award nights and team celebrations. Sugar Club can reserve a section for your group, set up bottle service and shisha, and handle the guest list. Our private party venue in Dubai page explains section bookings and full venue hire on selected dates.

Weekend Arabic nights

From Thursday to Saturday, Sugar Club hosts Arabic nights. Thursday’s Arabic International Night mixes Arabic hits with international club tracks, while Friday and Saturday are fully Arabic. These are our busiest nights, so book ahead if you are coming from Motor City or Sports City with a group.

Tables for groups

A table gives your group a base for the night: a host, bottle service and a spot near the dance floor. Our VIP table booking in Dubai page explains how minimum spend works and how to reserve on WhatsApp.

Sunday Afrobeats

Sunday is Afrobeats, Amapiano and Afro house at Sugar Club, one of our most energetic nights. It is a popular way to close the weekend for residents across the southern communities, and the drive home along Hessa Street is quick after closing.

A night out without the long drive

From Motor City and Sports City, the Marina and Downtown can feel far at night, with busy interchanges and long taxi queues at closing. Al Barsha sits much closer, directly up Hessa Street or Umm Suqeim Street, with a full club, themed nights and a local crowd. That is why many residents from the southern communities use Sugar Club as their regular night out.

Getting home

Taxis wait outside Montreal Barsha Hotel at closing, and the trip back to Motor City or Sports City is direct along Hessa Street or Umm Suqeim Street. Never drive after drinking; Dubai has zero tolerance.
