Jumeirah Lake Towers is a city within the city: dozens of towers arranged in clusters around artificial lakes, with offices, apartments, restaurants and a handful of bars and pubs at street level. It is lively after work, but options for a full club night inside JLT are limited. Sugar Lounge & Club in Al Barsha is about 15 minutes away, and for many JLT residents it has become the go-to spot when the evening calls for a dance floor.
From most JLT clusters, head onto Sheikh Zayed Road towards Mall of the Emirates and turn into Al Barsha 1. At night it usually takes 12 to 18 minutes. Ride-hailing cars can collect you from your cluster’s drop-off point, and the destination is Montreal Barsha Hotel on 23rd Street. Groups from the same cluster often share one larger car.
JLT is served by DMCC Metro Station on the Red Line, on the Sheikh Zayed Road side of the towers. Ride towards Centrepoint to Mall of the Emirates Station, then walk or take a short taxi. It works well early in the evening. The metro closes before we do, so plan a taxi home.
JLT is home to young professionals from all over the world, many working in the DMCC free zone. Midweek nights suit them best. Wednesday’s hip hop night in Dubai brings R&B, 2000s anthems and current rap to a room full of people who know every word. Tuesday is ladies night, with free cocktails and shisha for ladies, and Monday Madness offers a drinks and shisha deal to start the week.
JLT has a large African community, and many residents spend Sunday at our Afrobeats night in Dubai. Afrobeats, Amapiano and Afro house fill the room until closing, with a dressed-up crowd and a DJ who keeps the floor busy. It is a short ride from JLT, and the perfect way to finish the weekend before Monday.
Apartment living means birthdays often happen somewhere else. Bring the celebration to Sugar Club: reserve a table, bring your cake and let the DJ do the shout-out. Our birthday party venue in Dubai page explains how it works, including midweek tables with lower minimum spends that suit JLT budgets.
Many JLT office workers start the evening at a cluster pub or restaurant, then move on. If that sounds like your Thursday, come to Sugar Club for Arabic International Night, which mixes Arabic hits with international club music and suits mixed groups of colleagues. Start in the lounge, finish on the dance floor.
JLT’s bars are good for a drink, but most are pubs or small lounges, and the music stops early. Sugar Club is a full club with resident DJs, a dance floor, VIP tables and a themed night every day of the week. It is close enough that the journey is never the hard part.
JLT sits between Sheikh Zayed Road and Emirates Living, opposite Dubai Marina. Its towers are grouped into lettered clusters around four lakes, with a mix of offices and apartments in the DMCC free zone. Street-level restaurants, cafés and pubs line the lakes, and the area has a strong community of young professionals. Nightlife inside JLT is mostly pubs and small bars, so a club night usually means leaving the clusters.
From Thursday to Saturday, Sugar Club hosts Arabic nights, with Thursday’s Arabic International Night blending Arabic and international music. JLT groups with Arab friends or colleagues often book a weekend table. See our Arabic night club in Dubai page and book a few days ahead.
JLT groups are often big: flatmates, colleagues and friends from neighbouring towers. Book a table and you have a base for the night with a host and bottle service. Our VIP table booking page explains minimum spends and how to reserve.
JLT sits right on Sheikh Zayed Road, which makes the drive to Al Barsha simple: join the highway heading towards Mall of the Emirates and exit into Al Barsha 1. Late at night the road is clear, and the whole trip takes about as long as it takes to agree on a playlist in the car. If you leave from a cluster on the far side of the lakes, allow a few extra minutes to reach the highway.
Friends in the canal towers can use our night club near Dubai Marina guide, and those in Emirates Living can see night club near The Greens. All area guides are on nightlife near me, and the venue overview is on the Sugar Club.
