Umm Suqeim is one of Dubai’s best-loved residential areas: low-rise villas, quiet streets, the beach, the Burj Al Arab on the horizon and Madinat Jumeirah at its edge. It is a neighbourhood for families and long-time residents, and its nightlife is mostly in resort bars along the coast. When you want a club with a dance floor, the closest options are inland in Al Barsha. Sugar Lounge & Club is roughly 10 minutes from most of Umm Suqeim, and the route could not be simpler.
Umm Suqeim Street runs inland from the beach, across Sheikh Zayed Road and into Al Barsha, which makes it the direct route to Sugar Club. From Umm Suqeim 1, 2 or 3, drive inland along Umm Suqeim Street, cross Sheikh Zayed Road near Mall of the Emirates and continue into Al Barsha 1 to 23rd Street. At night the trip usually takes 8 to 12 minutes. Ask for Montreal Barsha Hotel in your ride-hailing app.
Umm Suqeim has a large Emirati and Arab community, and many of our weekend regulars come from these streets. Our Arabic night club nights run from Thursday to Saturday, with Arabic International Night on Thursday and full Arabic nights on Friday and Saturday. Khaleeji anthems, Levantine pop and Egyptian classics fill the room, and the tables stay busy until closing. Book ahead for Friday and Saturday, our busiest nights.
Many Umm Suqeim guests prefer to start the night slowly. Our lounge serves shisha every night, with comfortable seating and music at a level where you can talk. Order a classic double apple or a house blend, catch up with friends and move to the dance floor when you are ready. See our shisha lounge in Al Barsha page for flavours and offers.
Kite Beach, Umm Suqeim Beach and the Madinat Jumeirah area are popular for sunset walks and dinner. Once the restaurants wind down, Sugar Club is a short drive inland. Change out of beachwear before you head over, as our dress code is smart casual. Many groups do dinner by the water and the rest of the night in Al Barsha.
Umm Suqeim families often celebrate together across generations. For engagements, graduations and milestone birthdays where the younger guests want a night out, Sugar Club offers reserved tables with bottle service or mocktails, shisha and a DJ dedication in Arabic or English. Our birthday party venue in Dubai page explains how we set up celebration tables.
Hotels along the Umm Suqeim and Madinat Jumeirah stretch host many visitors who want a night beyond the resort. Sugar Club is a short taxi ride inland. Bring your passport as ID, dress smart casual and pick a night from our weekly line-up. Ask the hotel to call a taxi to Montreal Barsha Hotel in Al Barsha 1.
Umm Suqeim is divided into three neighbourhoods, Umm Suqeim 1, 2 and 3, running along the coast from Jumeirah towards the Burj Al Arab and Madinat Jumeirah. It is mostly villas, schools, mosques and small shopping centres, with the beach and its cafés on one side and Al Wasl Road and Sheikh Zayed Road inland. Most residents have been here for years, and the area’s evenings are quiet and family-oriented, which is part of its appeal.
If your group mixes Arab friends with colleagues from other backgrounds, Thursday’s Arabic International Night is the easiest choice. The DJ alternates between Arabic hits and international club music, so everyone gets their moment on the dance floor. It is also a good night to introduce friends who have never been to an Arabic night before. By the end of the evening, they usually ask when the next one is.
Friday and Saturday are our busiest nights. Book a table a few days ahead and tell us if it is a celebration. Our VIP table booking in Dubai page explains how minimum spend works, and you can reserve directly on WhatsApp at +971 52 511 3138.
Neighbours further up the coast can use our night club near Al Sufouh guide, and those living inland near the galleries and warehouses can see night club near Al Quoz. All neighbourhood guides are on nightlife near me, and the venue overview is on the Sugar Club
Umm Suqeim Street makes the trip home as easy as the trip here. Taxis wait outside Montreal Barsha Hotel at closing, and the drive back to the coast takes about 10 minutes. Never drive after drinking; take a taxi or a safe-driver service.
