Night Club near Al Quoz

Al Quoz is Dubai’s working creative district: galleries and studios around Alserkal Avenue, production houses, design workshops, gyms in converted warehouses, and a growing number of residential buildings around Al Quoz Pond Park. By day it is busy; by night most of it goes quiet. When the studio closes and you want a night out, Sugar Lounge & Club in Al Barsha is about 10 minutes away. This guide covers the routes and the nights that suit the Al Quoz crowd.

Routes from Al Quoz

From the Alserkal Avenue end of Al Quoz, head towards Sheikh Zayed Road and Mall of the Emirates, then into Al Barsha 1. From Al Quoz 3 and 4 and the residential area around the pond park, Umm Suqeim Street or Al Khail Road take you towards Al Barsha quickly. At night, most journeys are 8 to 15 minutes. Ask for Montreal Barsha Hotel on 23rd Street.

Creative crowds and late finishes

People who work in Al Quoz rarely work nine to five. Shoots run late, exhibitions open in the evening, and weekends often fall midweek. That is why Monday Madness is popular with the Al Quoz crowd: a drinks and shisha deal on the night many creatives finally get a break. After a gallery opening or a long day on set, a table in our lounge is an easy place to unwind.

Sunday Afrobeats

Al Quoz is also home to a large community of workers and residents from across Africa, and many of them make Sunday their night out. Our Afrobeats night in Dubai brings Afrobeats, Amapiano and Afro house to Al Barsha every Sunday, with a crowd that comes to dance until closing. It is only a short drive from Al Quoz, so you can stay late without a long journey home.

Wrap parties and studio nights

Production companies, agencies and studios in Al Quoz often need a venue for wrap parties, client nights and team celebrations. Sugar Club can reserve a section for your crew, handle the guest list and set up bottle service and shisha. Our private party venue in Dubai page explains section bookings and full venue hire on selected dates.

After a gallery night

Alserkal Avenue’s exhibition openings and late events bring crowds to Al Quoz on certain evenings. When the galleries close, most people disperse. If your group wants to keep going, Sugar Club is one of the closest full night clubs. Start in the lounge with a shisha and conversation about the show, then stay for the DJ.

Residents of Al Quoz

New residential buildings have brought young professionals and families to Al Quoz, but the area still has very little nightlife of its own. For residents, Sugar Club works as a local club: close enough for a weeknight, with themed nights from Monday to Sunday and a lounge for quieter evenings. Weekend Arabic nights are the busiest; book ahead if you want a table.

Al Quoz at a glance

Al Quoz runs inland between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road, split into industrial zones and a growing residential area around Al Quoz Pond Park. Alserkal Avenue is its cultural centre, with galleries, independent cinemas and cafés in converted warehouses. The rest of the district is workshops, showrooms, production houses and fitness studios. It is one of the most interesting parts of Dubai by day, and one of the quietest after dark.

Weekend Arabic nights

From Thursday to Saturday, Sugar Club hosts Arabic nights with Khaleeji, Levantine and Egyptian hits. Thursday’s Arabic International Night mixes in international club music for mixed groups. If your Al Quoz crew wants a big weekend night, book a table a few days ahead through our Arabic night club in Dubai page.

Shisha after a long day

If you want something calmer, our lounge serves shisha every night. Classic flavours and house blends, comfortable seats and music low enough for conversation. It is a good way to end a long day on set or in the studio without committing to a late night.

Al Quoz to Al Barsha: why it is quick

Al Quoz and Al Barsha are neighbours separated by Sheikh Zayed Road and the area around Mall of the Emirates. At night, with the industrial traffic gone, the drive between them is one of the quickest in the city. That makes Sugar Club practical for a weeknight: you can decide at nine o’clock to go out, be in the lounge fifteen minutes later and be home not long after closing.

Getting home

Al Quoz streets can be quiet late at night, so book your taxi or ride-hail from the hotel entrance rather than walking. Taxis wait outside Montreal Barsha Hotel at closing. Never drive after drinking; Dubai has zero tolerance.
