The Greens and The Views are leafy, low-rise apartment communities beside Emirates Golf Club, and together with The Springs, The Meadows and Emirates Hills they make up the Emirates Living area. These are some of Dubai’s most popular neighbourhoods for young professionals and families: quiet, green and close to Media City. Nightlife inside the communities is limited to a few cafés and community bars, so when you want a proper club, Sugar Lounge & Club in Al Barsha is about 10 minutes away.
From The Greens and The Views, the quickest route is onto Sheikh Zayed Road heading towards Mall of the Emirates, then into Al Barsha 1. From The Springs and The Meadows, Al Khail Road or Hessa Street can be quicker depending on where you live. At night, most journeys take 8 to 15 minutes. Ask your ride-hailing app for Montreal Barsha Hotel, 23rd Street.
The Greens and The Views are full of people who work in Media City, Internet City and JLT, and their nights out often fall midweek. Our Tuesday ladies night in Dubai brings free cocktails and shisha for ladies, and Wednesday’s hip hop night in Dubai plays R&B, 2000s anthems and current rap to a young, international crowd. Both are short taxi rides from home and easy to fit around a working week.
From Thursday to Saturday the music turns to Arabic: Thursday’s Arabic International Night mixes Arabic and international club tracks, and Friday and Saturday are full Arabic nights. Sunday brings Afrobeats and Amapiano. If your group has different tastes, Thursday is a safe choice. Book a table for weekend nights, when the venue is at its busiest.
Emirates Living has a strong community feel, and birthdays often bring together neighbours, colleagues and friends from across the city. Sugar Club is a central meeting point: close for residents, and easy for guests coming from the Marina or Downtown. Our birthday party venue in Dubai page explains how we set up a birthday table with a cake moment and DJ shout-out.
Many residents start with dinner at one of the community restaurants or at a café near the lakes, then head to Al Barsha later in the evening. Others meet friends at Mall of the Emirates first. Whatever the plan, our lounge is a relaxed place to arrive: shisha, drinks and music at a level where you can still talk, before the dance floor fills.
The Greens and Emirates Living are designed for calm, which is exactly why residents like them. That calm also means there are few late-night venues within the communities. A short trip to Al Barsha gives you a real club with a dance floor, resident DJs and VIP tables, without the long journey to Downtown or the queues of the big superclubs.
Emirates Living is one of Dubai’s original master-planned communities, built around lakes, parks and golf courses. The Greens and The Views are mid-rise apartment neighbourhoods; The Springs, The Meadows and The Lakes are villa communities; Emirates Hills is the gated estate around the Montgomerie golf course. Together they house thousands of families and professionals who chose the area for its green spaces and calm streets, which also explains why late-night options inside the community are limited.
Villa residents from The Springs and The Meadows usually reach Al Barsha via Al Khail Road or Hessa Street rather than Sheikh Zayed Road. The trip is still short at night, often 12 to 15 minutes. Families with older children often send the younger adults off in a taxi together, knowing the venue is close and the ride home is easy.
Sunday at Sugar Club is Afrobeats, Amapiano and Afro house, one of our most energetic nights. It is a popular way for Emirates Living residents to close the weekend without a long drive home. See our Afrobeats night in Dubai page for details.
Many Greens and Views residents work a few minutes away in Media City and Internet City. On Thursday, a common plan is drinks with colleagues after work, a quick stop at home to change, then a taxi to Sugar Club for Arabic International Night. The night blends Arabic and international club music, so colleagues from different backgrounds all enjoy it, and the journey home to Emirates Living is short.
If you are closer to the towers and lakes, see our night club near JLT guide. Colleagues coming from the offices next door can use our night club near Dubai Media City page. All area guides are on nightlife near me, and the venue overview is on the Sugar Club.
Taxis wait outside Montreal Barsha Hotel at closing, and the drive back to The Greens or The Views is short. If you drove, use a safe-driver service rather than driving after drinking.
