Night Club in Barsha Heights (TECOM): A Short Ride to Sugar Club

Barsha Heights, still called TECOM by most people who live and work there, is one of Dubai’s busiest after-work districts. It has hotel bars, sports bars and lounges on almost every corner, but when the evening calls for a proper dance floor, many residents and office workers head a few minutes south to Al Barsha 1. Sugar Lounge & Club is roughly 3 km from Barsha Heights, inside Montreal Barsha Hotel on 23rd Street. This page explains the quickest routes, the best nights for the TECOM crowd and how to turn after-work drinks into a full night out.

How to get here from Barsha Heights

By taxi, the trip from the main towers of Barsha Heights to Montreal Barsha Hotel usually takes 6 to 10 minutes at night. The route crosses towards Al Barsha via the roads around Mall of the Emirates rather than along Sheikh Zayed Road itself. Enter “Montreal Barsha Hotel” in your ride-hailing app and you will be dropped at the door. If you are driving, there is parking at the hotel, but if drinks are part of the plan, leave the car in your building and take a taxi.

By metro

Barsha Heights is served by Dubai Internet City Metro Station on the Red Line, two stops from Mall of the Emirates Station. If you are coming straight from the office, ride two stops, then walk or take a short taxi from the mall to 23rd Street. It is a good option early in the evening. For the journey home, use a taxi, as the metro closes before we do.

From TECOM after work

Barsha Heights empties out of its offices around the same time every evening, and the bars fill up quickly. If you want something bigger than another happy hour, start with a drink near the office and then move to Sugar Club when the lounge is warming up. On Mondays, our Monday Madness drinks and shisha deal is made for exactly this crowd: a relaxed table after work that can turn into dancing if the mood is right.

Midweek for the TECOM crowd

Barsha Heights is home to a young, international population of professionals, students and hotel workers. That crowd fits our Wednesday hip hop night in Dubai, with R&B, 2000s anthems and current rap, and our Tuesday ladies night with free cocktails and shisha for ladies. Weekends bring our Arabic nights from Thursday to Saturday and Afrobeats on Sunday, so there is a themed night for every taste in the building.

Team nights and office celebrations

Many TECOM companies are small and medium teams that need somewhere easy for a celebration: a launch, a promotion, a farewell or the end of a big project. Because we are only a few minutes away, the whole team can arrive together after work. Reserve a table or section through our VIP table booking in Dubai page and tell us the occasion. Midweek tables have lower minimum spends, which makes the budget easier for office parties.

Hotel guests in Barsha Heights

Barsha Heights has a long strip of three- and four-star hotels popular with business travellers and holidaymakers. If you are staying here, Sugar Club is one of the closest full night clubs to your hotel. Bring your passport as ID, ask reception to call a taxi to Montreal Barsha Hotel, and check our weekly line-up to pick a night. Many visitors who come for one night return later in their stay for the Arabic weekend.

Why make the short trip

Staying inside Barsha Heights is easy, but the options can feel repetitive: the same sports bars and hotel lounges every week. A few minutes away, Sugar Club offers a different night: a dance floor, themed music, a lounge with shisha and tables with bottle service. For many TECOM residents, it has become the place to go when the week needs something bigger than a bar.

Thursday night in TECOM

Thursday evenings in Barsha Heights are the start of the weekend for most office workers, and the area’s bars fill early. If you want to avoid the same crowded happy hour, try our Thursday Arabic International Night, which mixes Arabic hits with international club tracks. It suits mixed groups of colleagues, starts relaxed in the lounge and builds into one of our busiest nights. Book a table if you are bringing more than five people, and arrive early to get the best spot near the dance floor.
